Astrid Vang-Pedersen is working on her PhD on ‘Concert Design’, where she presents three major case studies on the subject as well as a complete ‘Concert Design Concept’. Astrid also works as a freelancer facilitating masterclasses and workshops in her home country Denmark, as well as abroad. She conducts two vocal ensembles, ‘Dopplers’ & ‘Papaya’, which both focus on theatrical and communicative aspects of performing vocal music.
Leading the following workshop in EUROPA CANTAT Pécs:
‘Concert Design’ is a practical approach to designing physical, visual and communicative aspects of choral music performance, for instance by creating formations, choreography and introductions.
The presentation begins with a brief overview of the ‘Concert Design Concept’ and continues as a workshop where practical tools on how to work on performance skills on stage, and how to stage musical pieces, are presented through exercises with participants of the workshop.
