Laura Antal received her degree in Choral conducting at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy Budapest as a student of István Párkai and she received her DLA there in 2010. She attended masterclasses in France and in Italy. Her engagement with contemporary choral music started in 2003 when she founded Szabad Hangok (Free Tones) Vocal Ensemble. Szabad Hangok has been unique ever since in its focusing almost exlusively on experimental choir music in Hungary. Their repertoire also includes all of Ligeti’s avantgarde choir pieces.
