Spring bringing life back to nature, followed by the endless midnight sun – in this atelier, we will work on some of the most popular choral music from Finland, concentrating on the national romantic period. The subjects of the poems are related to the nature of the North, influenced strongly by the different seasons of the year. The songs will be in Finnish and Swedish, and the repertoire will also include folk song arrangements from different parts of the country. The highlight of the repertoire will be a brand new commission by Jaakko Mäntyjärvi.

"How many consonants can you pronounce in one song? We'll find out with Jaakko Mäntyjärvi's brand-new composition in Czech: Vlk a krtek! The rest of the atelier's programme is made up of songs in Finnish and Swedish about the beautiful landscapes and souls of the North."
