The EUROPA CANTAT Music Office will soon get in touch with the participating choirs to inform them about the edition to be used in the atelier.

• Johann Sebastian Bach: Mass in B minor

In this atelier the choirs will have the unique opportunity to work on one of the most important German Baroque masterworks with a German conductor, who is very experienced in historically informed performances of Baroque music. During the rehearsals Georg Grün will offer important information about the genesis and complex history of the Mass in B minor and explain significant Baroque aspects like rhetorical figures or the symbolic of numbers. The participants will have the unique opportunity to gain experience in Baroque performance practice in a relaxed workshop atmosphere.

At the end of the atelier, the final concert will involve well-known soloists, experienced in Baroque music, and an excellent Hungarian orchestra, playing on period instruments.
